Each material composition has it's limitations and will eventually deteriorate. The type of material used depends upon the service and life expectancy requirements.
NITRILE: Continuous temperature up to 255 degrees F. Excellent resistance to multi-grade SE type oils. Limited resistance to additional additive packages. Recommended for medium duty service requirements. Generally acceptable for engines before 1970.
POLYACRYLIC: Continuous service temperature up to 350 degrees F. Excellent resistance to multi-grade SE type oils. Moderate resistance to additional additive packages. Recommended for medium or heavy duty service requirements. Generally acceptable for engines from 1960 to 1980.
GLASS FIBER NYLON RESIN: Continuous service temperature up to 375 degrees F. Excellent resistance to all gasoline and diesel engine oils. Excellent resistance to additive packages. Limited to unbrella type seal designs. Recommended for medium duty to heavy duty service requirements, generally acceptable for engines thru today.
GLASS FIBER NYLON RESIN & "VITON": Continuous service temperature up to 400 degrees F. This is a newly designed seal which is unbrella with a viton chimney for the valve stem. It was designed for those who prefer a flexible stem. Used in O.E. production and recommended for late models.
FLUOROELASTOMER "VITON": Continuous service temperature up to 400 degrees F. Excellent resistance to all gasoline and diesel engine oils. Excellent resistance to additive packages. Presently being used in O.E. production. Recommended for late models replacement and severe duty requirements. Generally acceptable for engines thru today.

These seals are manufactured from a new, highly engineered, material which has the ability to conform and maintain the required radial tension during temperature changes and is self lubricated, which provides superior protection during start up. This material is resistant to Nitromethane, Methanol, and all types of racing fuels. This, combined with it's tolerance to high temperatures, produces the finest valve seal available today. A special Teflon® sealing element assures positive oil control, but will not "dry up" valve stems. The special steel housing will not crack or vibrate loose. The outside diameter of the housing is extremely narrow so it will have ample clearance on double valve spring setups.
